Huge jump for Göteborg year-on-year. After barely staying out of the bottom 3 in 2024 only on goal difference they finished last season in 4th place and will be back in Europe for the 1st time in a decade. In all fairness somewhat lucky to grab 16 wins D3 L11 last season. No team had more than Göteborg's 12 wins by a single goal in 2025. Max Fenger scored 12 goals in his 1st year at the club and 9 of those were in narrow victories. There has been no major departures in the winter but also not much strengthening or increasing of the depth. Managing both Europe and the league with the current squad depth might prove a tricky task. Noah Tolf (20) was voted Young Player of the Year in 2025. He started the season as a CM but by the end of the year was established as the main LB. Göteborg will need to continue to be creative in defence. Lack depth in that area, especially after Svensson ended his career. CB Bager and winger Pascal Lundqvist poised for much bigger roles this season. They both missed most of 2025 injured. If they can stay healthy now they could become regulars. Heintz had 10 assists last season so he will still be the main hope in attack next to Fenger.

Target

Hoping for a top 6 finish. Might struggle instead.
