After 16 consecutive years in the lower divisions Orgryte return to the top flight. They finished only third in Superettan last season but had the second-best attack and ended up beating Norrkoping 3:0 on aggregate in the play-offs. Noah Christoffersson scored 20 goals, including 2 of the 3 against Norrkoping, and he was excellent all year. Experienced Sana had 9 goals and 9 assists. Captain Daniel Paulson also had a memorable campaign up front. Orgryte share Galma Ullevi stadium with Göteborg and GAIS so plenty of exciting city derbies are in stall for them this year. The third-year manager Holmberg has plenty of top flight experience even if the team have been missing from this level for 16 years. Lost 2 important players this winter. Winger Dahlqvist had 12 assists in 2025 so his departure was a blow. Didn’t waste time and replaced him very well with the vastly experienced Rasmus Alm. The other main departure was that of key anchor-man Mujanic. Kendal is expected to become a regular in the circumstances. Yet to be seen if either of the two new additions Laturnus or Hodzic, both very young, could develop fast enough to have serious impact. Don’t have very good depth in the wide positions but at centre-back several very experienced players are available. In some games Orgryte are expected to fill in the back line only with centre-backs. Did that a few times last season and it worked well for them in terms of keeping clean sheets.
