Last season was a huge disappointment for Besiktas as they were unable to get any ticket to Europe and finished the CL’s group stage at the bottom. Finishing was one of their biggest problems last season. That is why they changed the whole offensive line. Coach Ismael brought in Muleka, Weghorst and Tosun instead of Larin, Batshuayi and Guven. The fans also saw the departures of Vida and Ridvan. Saiss was added to cover for the Croatian center-back, but they are still looking for a replacement for the left-back. After spending the last season in Caykur Rize as a loanee, Gedson will be one of the most valuable assest this season. Emrecan was brought in from the newcomers Istanbulspor as an alternative for the backline. Early trainings showed that the coach will try to use Salih and Boyd who have spent the last season as loanees. Last season, there were several players who have failed to meet the expectations. This season, the squad looks shorter but more efficient. The new offence line looks more solid and they are expected to produce more goals considering Ghezzal’s offensive plans. Center-back could cause some problems during the season as it is Saiss’ first season. 21-year-old Emrecan will also play at top level for the 1st time. Montero is also not very trustable.

Target


Title. Since they are not competing in Europe, they will concentrate on the league completely. If the new offence line meet the expectations, they are expected to be in a title race.
