Kayseri managed to survive at the top level although they failed to offer stability during the whole season. However, they have done a perfect job in the cup as they have played the final against Sivas. They have been pretty strong at home but they have been one of the worst away performers. Except the three relegated teams, they have conceded the most goals in the league. They have been unable to add any new player this summer because of their transfer ban. Despite that, coach Cagdas Atan is very optimistic about the new season. Last season, Kayseri have been unable to use 4 players like Karimi, Mensah, Ackah and Uzodimma because of several reasons. Now, the coach sees them as new arrivals. Moreover, they have not seen many major departures in the summer. Former Besiktas JK keeper Cenk is expected to be the number one after Lung left the team after 5 years. The coach is able to use some defensive midfielders at center back following the departures of Demirok and Mert Cetin. Considering that they will not manage to lift their transfer ban on time, the coach has promoted 9 reserve team players to the team in order to have options in all roles. At this point, the lack of depth could be the biggest problem of the team this season. Parlak, Gavranovic, Thiam, Bertolacci, Pektemek could miss some fixtures during the whole season but the bad news is that the coach has not enough quality on the bench.
