Konya did a great job last season as they finished in the 3rd place but it should have been better as they lost many points on the road in 2022. In the summer, the board extended the contract of successful coach Ilhan Palut. His main goal was to build a wide range squad considering the tough season. He brought in five new defenders like Kahraman, Calvo, Ahmet, Cebrail, Yasir. Three of them are considered as starters. Pavicic and Paz will bring a high-level energy to the midfield, winger Muric will try to compete with Bytqi and Amilton for a start place. Following Hassan’s departure, Muhammet Demir was signed in to company to Cikalleshi up front. This season, they have more quality and depth in most roles but it seems like coach Palut needs to add one more attacker considering the busy schedule including Super League, European Cups and Turkish Cup as the current offence line may not cope with the high-tempo. Four new arrivals are expected to be regular starters this season. The rest of them have enough quality to be used by the coach considering that they will sometimes have to play 3 fixtures in a week.

Target

European Cups. Coach Ilhan Palut have the same quality as he had last season. No reason prevents his team from repeating last season’s success. A top 4 finish is not unrealistic.
