Giresunspor reached their goal last season and survived at the top level but they offered the worst home performance except the relegated teams. It is obvious that coach Hakan Keles lost power this summer as he saw five regulars quit the team. Chiquinho, Flavio, Suleymanov and Okan returned to their parent clubs following their loan spells. Nayir is not expected to be a part of the team after he was internally disciplined by the board. Last season, they had to deal with financial problems. In order to cope with them, they decided to spend less money in the transfer market. So, they added low profile players comparing to the past. Murat Cem and Rahmetullah come into the midfield but were not first-team material last season. This season Giresunspor have not strength in most roles. With Bajic, Tasar, Vefa and Dogan Can, they increase the quality in offence but not enough. Shortness in numbers and quality are biggest problems for coach Hakan Keles so far. They have been unable to fill the roles of most departures yet. Except Perez and Yavru, there is no other trustable option at backline. Bajic has spent the last season at Italy Serie B. Balde is also 33 years old. Beside them, Kurt has not enough experience for the top level. At this point, everybody wonders how they will manage to score more than last season’s 41 goals?
