Football Season Guide

Eyupspor managed to stay at top level once again but they enter the new season with a squad that has changed significantly during the summer. In recent years, the club have preferred experienced names who know Turkish football well but this time their transfer activity looks slightly different. There are several foreign additions as well as some players returning from loan periods. The biggest challenge will be creating a balanced team from all these changes before the early fixtures. The goalkeeping department has seen major movement. Marcos Felipe was added but then moved to Corum while Moldovan came from Atletico Madrid. Jankat Yilmaz returned to Galatasaray following his loan period, so Moldovan looks like the most important option on the net at the moment. Defence has also changed considerably. Luccas Claro and Umut Meras left while Onguene returned to his club. In order to fill the gaps, they brought Jawad El Yamiq and Zak Jules. Both have experience but they will need some time to get used to their new teammates. The biggest question marks seem to be in midfield and offence. Emre Akbaba left for Karagumruk while Legowski and Baran Gezek also departed. David Costa was added to midfield and Hamza Akman returned from his loan period but they still look short in numbers. In offence, Umut Bozok left while Rotariu is also no longer with the team. Mete Demir and Michalak were signed but neither should be seen as a guaranteed source of goals. That is why they may need another attacker before the transfer window closes. In general, Eyupspor have enough experience to compete but their current squad does not look as deep as in previous seasons. The performance of the new foreign players will probably decide whether they can enjoy a comfortable campaign.
