Vizela was the big sensation of Second Division, last season, surprising everyone by picking up a great second place only one year after arriving from Campeonato Nacional. Vizela is back at Primeira Liga after 36 years. 50-years old Álvaro Pacheco was the great mastermind of this fairy tale and will try to keep the dream alive in 2021-22. He should make very little adjustments to his positive and attacking 433. Charles arrived from Marítimo likely to be the owner of the goalkeeper position, even if both Ivo Gonçalves and Pedro Silva showed safe hands during last season. Igor Julião and Bruno Wilson are exciting new signings for the back. The Brazilian will have the competition of Koffi Kouao on the right; the centre-back arrives to form a partnership with Aidara, hopefully stronger than the previous one with Matheus Costa: Vizela's weakest spot was the defence. Claudemir is the big name signing for the midfield, while Tomás Silva is the promising youngster coming from Sporting youth system. The two will face tough competition as the trio from last season formed by Guzzo, Marcos Paulo and Samu is very solid and talented. Guilherme Schettine arrives from Braga and in normal conditions would be the top striker for Vizela, but he is coming from a season and a half without barely playing, while the less talented but highly combative and hardworking Cassiano is filled with confidence after last season. Kiko Bondoso formed a great partnership with Cassiano in attack and should continue to show his skills now in Primeira Liga. The young and talented Nuno Moreira will have the first chance at full professional football on a top flight team.
