After going so lose to an immediate return to the Premier League last season, losing to Blackpool in the play-off semi-finals, Chris Hughton opted to leave the club and join Norwich City. With the club having plenty of money worries behind the scenes few could blame Hughton for his decision. Lee Clark, former Huddersfield manager, has been drafted in as replacement and he certainly appears to be a good appointment on paper with his passion for the game likely to bring the best out of players. Impressive midfielder Jordon Mutch's departure to Cardiff hit the mood of the camp hard but Clark has bought well, in particular the signing of attacking midfielder Peter Lovenkrands from Newcastle United and midfielder Ravel Morrison from West ham. Hayden Mullins and Darren Ambrose also provide experience. The defence, particularly Curtis Davies, remain key to any possible promotion bid.

Target

Birmingham will expect at least a play-off place again given the expectations at the club.
