It's been a tough summer for Ian Holloway after watching his side go so close to an immediate return to the Premier League. The Seasiders had the better of the play-off final with West Ham United but were eventually beaten and must spend another season in the Championship. Holloway has struggled to make additions to his squad with only midfielders Isaiah Osbourne and Tiago Gomes arriving at Bloomfield Road. Out has gone the experienced Keith Southern to Huddersfield so Holloway is losing a veteran player. Holloway does like to rotate his side and play European-style formations so he could do the same this season. Expectations are considerably lower than in recent seasons as a result of the club's lack of transfer activity and a feeling they have done as much as they can in the past three years.

Target

A play-off place is probably the best they can hope for but even that is likely to be difficult.
