Derek McInnes successfully steered his side away from the bottom three last season, despite one or two wobbles along the way. McInnes repaired the damage from the early season when it was obvious that former manager Keith Millen was out of his depth. McInnes has now molded a side of his own which includes one or two players from his native Scotland. Greg Cunningham and Paul Anderson are good Championship players while Tom Heaton is an impressive young goalkeeper and an able replacement for former England goalkeper David James. Midfielder Jody Morris makes a return to England after a spell in Scotland. City have been able to keep the core of their side including winger Albert Adomah who was somewhat unsettled at times last season. With the worries behind them, McInnes will be expecting a solid season.

Target

Anything away from the relegation zone will be acceptable after last season but City will surely be targeting a top half finish.
