Leicester City will hope the millions they spent last season will not go to waste in the long term as they look to finally deliver promotion. Nigel Pearson inherited a side that had talent in abundance from Sven Goran Eriksson but lacked a lot in terms of teamwork. He seems to have addressed the problems in that department and Leicester are a far more organised side now. Pearson has signed Ritchie De Laet, Matty James and Jamie Vardy and those three in particular could well be the final piece in the jigsaw for a side that have a solid defence including Wes Morgan and have a lot of pace in attack and out wide. The Foxes struggled for consistency last term, unable to string together a run of wins which was somewhat baffling to Pearson. But with extra time to work on his squad, the former Hull manager will be quietly confident going into the start of the season.

Target

Promotion. Leicester's owners will feel the money they have spent should be rewarded.
