A tough summer for Gary Bowyer due to the transfer embargo in place for breaching financial fair play rules. He has not really brought in anyone of real note and looks set to be severely weakened this term should the sales of Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede go through. The strikers were by far and away Rovers' best players last term and losing them would be a big blow. Their sales though may allow them to sign further players. Optimism though is not in high supply despite a campaign last term that saw Blackburn flirt with the play-offs at plenty of stages. Bowyer has been able to get the best out of his players although tactically his choices have not always been the most clear. It is likely to be a big season for the manager just as much as the club but it is difficult to see much success.

Target

Mid-table may be the best they can hope for if Rhodes and Gestede's departures are confirmed.
