Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman has done his best despite the restrictions of a transfer embargo for exceeding financial fair play. He has signed defender Matt Mills from Bolton and forward Jamie Ward from rivals Derby while Ben Hamer has arrived on a season-long loan from Leicester. They still appear to be a striker light with Britt Assombalonga, the club's record signing, set to be out until March. Chris Cohen and Andy Reid also remain injured so getting the heartbeat of the side back as quickly as possible will be greatly needed. Expectations are the lowest they have been at the City Ground for a number of years due to the embargo restrictions but that just may allow the club to create a better team spirit. With such a positive manager in Freedman they will be looking to surprise a few people.

Target

Given the situation, a play-off place would be a remarkable achievement.
