After the 20th fixtures were played, Ankaragucu were one of the biggest relegation candidates as 16th placed team, but the arrival of coach Mustafa Kaplan and good performances of the winter arrivals enabled the team remain at the top level. At the end of June, they had to lose many players whose contracts have expired. In the early days of July, the board went to an election. That is why they have been late in making their transfer action. It is obvious that they are going to bring some players in, but they are expected to find their rhythm later than other teams’ squad. So far, they could just sign Kitsiou permanently. Except him, the coach had to use some youngsters and players who returned from their lower league loan spells during the summer camp. Especially, they have to concentrate in the offence zone, because Hadi Sacko & Tyler Boyd have offered some decisive performances in 2019. To keep Orgill in the team is a plus, but he needs to have a talented back-up. They were also weakened a lot at left back following Pinto’s departure, because there is only Mehmet Sak who can defend at the moment. In the midfield, Sedat Agcay could be a professional, but he is 38 years old. Canteros and Moke’s performances were not satisfiying in the last season. So the fans expected to see some action there too. It is the same story on the net. Hopf and Altay left the team. Korcak could be a good keper, but not good enough during the whole season. To summarize, Ankaragucu could lose some points on early fixtures because of being late, but they have to save upcoming fixtures in order to survive.

Target

With the current squad quality, they should organize a great celebration, if they manage to stay away from the relegation zone.
