Portimonense will play the seventh consecutive season at top flight level after escaping from relegation in 2022-23 in the final weeks. Coach Paulo Sérgio will remain at the helm, and the club looks ready to continue their policy of being a bridge-club for South American and Asian players, more than true project focused in sportive goals. Moufi, Yony Gonzalez, Welinton Junior, Yago Cariello and Rochez are all gone, which leaves Portimonense even weaker in the attacking production. Pedro Sá and Ouattara are also important departures. Portimonense focused in youngsters in their new signings for the season. Paulinho, coming from Danish league and Rildo, arriving after a very good season with relegated Santa Clara, are the only established new players for Portimão. Coach Paulo Sérgio already warned the staff that the club needs more experience in order to continue competitive in Primeira Liga. Goalkeeper Nakamura, centre-halves Pedrão and Relvas and left-back Seck are safe units for the back; midfielders Carlinhos, Diaby and Maurício are solid midfielders, but there's a clear lack of options for the attack.

Target

Portimonense should be involved in relegation struggle.
