Telstar were among the more impressive teams last season in the league as they definitely earned quite a lot of points more than people expected and were right in the play-off mix until the final few weeks of the season. Now Mike Snoei is motivated to make the team competitive and quite steadfast again while operating with one of the smallest playing budgets in the league. As it happens every what with a club of Telstar's size, the squad has lost some important players in Ozgur Aktas, Anas Najah, David Min and veteran striker Glynot Plet. In terms of additions, it all has been quite quiet so far as the additions have been players from the lower divisions or very low-key youngsters with almost no real pedigree and experience of first-team football. That being said, they did keep their probably two best players in Christos Giousis, who has lead the team from the front last season with six goals and nine assists, and all-action midfielder Tim Overtoom. The squad looks noticeably weaker at the moment and there is lack of too many options both in attack and defence. Snoei will surely add some more pieces in the weeks before the end of the window but there is no escaping the fact that this club operates on a shoe-string budget and they are likely to be near the bottom places in the standings.
