Dordrecht were at times quite positive and carefree in attack last season but never really had any sort of consistency and finished near the bottom of the standings after some desperate run of results in the spring. Now they start with a renewed and refreshed squad after a swathe of departures during the summer and coach Michele Santoni will naturally hope to improve on the last two season, when he has been in charge and the team has garnered 39 and 35 points respectively. He has seen main striker Samuele Longo depart for Greece while promising players like Anouar El Azzouzi and Liam Bossin have moved to new clubs as well. Experienced pros like defensive pair Toine van Huzen and Jop van den Avert are not around anymore as well. All of that leaves the squad quite shallow and the main source of new singings so far has been the academy of neighbours Feyenoord, from where four new players have arrived, Whether any of them is good enough to get established is another matter but this will certainly be a very young sides this season and there will be some growing players along the way. One of the more established new arrivals is Rene Kriwak, who is expected to lead the attack, coming from Austria. Luca Plogmann is also a keeper who used to be quite promising before and may well profit from regular game time. Yet this team is set to be near the bottom of the standings again unless one or two of the new additions prove real difference-makers and have unexpected impact right away.
