Football Season Review

№13: Leeds United

It was another frustrating season for Leeds which ended with the departure of Neil Warnock with a few games remaining. Brian McDermott has come in and already promised that he may bring success back to the club that have been in the doldrums of late. Promising cup runs hardly helped Leeds' league form but in the end their players were not good enough with some poor performances away from home. Luciano Becchio, their leading scorer, departed in January and replacement Steve Morison has not been able to win the fans' hearts of late. Young right back Sam Byram has been extremely impressive though enjoying a superb first full season. Leeds won 13 home games but won just four times on the road so McDermott will need to work out just what has been going wrong for his side on the road. He is likely to need to make several signings but there should be a bit of money to spend after the club were taken over midway through last season.

Player of the Season: Sam Byram
