Football Season Review

Champions: Bournemouth

Bournemouth have made it to the Premier League against all odds. No-one would have expected Eddie Howe's side will have achieved what they have this term and especially not winning the entire league. But that is what they have done in a truly memorable campaign. Howe was able to get to the top flight based on fantastic team spirit and a settled side. Harry Arter became the standout player in the middle of the park while Callum Wilson's 23 goals for the Cherries proved to be vital in the end. 13 away wins was also important while Bournemouth showed the most nerve out of four sides competing for automatic promotion at the finishing stages of the campaign. It is clear that Howe has a lot of work to do to keep Bournemouth up and they may need to make plenty of signings if they are to survive. But for now players and fans alike can celebrate and reflect on a truly remarkable campaign.
