Football Season Review

№16: Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield responded well after the worst possible start to the campaign to finish a more than acceptable 16th spot. The Terriers lost 4-0 at home to Bournemouth on the opening day and Mark Robins was immediately sacked. But Chris Powell came in and after a slow start got his side playing effective football. With youngsters such as Harry Bunn and the exciting winger Sean Scannell, Huddersfield turned a corner while Nahki Wells impressed with 14 goals. Adam Clayton was also impressive in the middle of the park and won the player of the season award. Huddersfield proved difficult to beat all season with only 17 defeats all campaign. The Terriers will look to improved upon that next term and there is certainly optimism enough for Powell with youngsters coming through the system. Huddersfield were pretty safe from early on and may have finished higher if there was a bit more pressure on them as the season got into its business end.
