Football Season Review

№10: Birmingham City

Birmingham can very satisfied with their season. Despite continued concerns about their ownership, the Blues put that to one side to finish a very creditable 10th spot. They opted to part company with Lee Clark early on in the campaign and made a decent choice with a replacement in the shape of the up and coming Gary Rowett. The former Burton boss has made gradual process turning them from a side that last year flirted with relegation into one that finished close to the play-off zone. Rowett has done this with a solid defence and has improved Birmingham going forward to. Clayton Donaldson had a very successful season scoring 16 times in his first season in the Championship. Birmingham can also be pleased with the youngsters coming through. Demarai Gray was a particular success and Birmingham turned down a bid from Bournemouth to keep hold of the highly-rated forward. Birmingham may well have sights on the play-offs next term.
