Football Season Review

№2: Watford

Watford were promoted after a magnificent season. Despite a succession of managers it was Slavisa Jokanovic who got the Hornets to the promising land. However the Serbian may now leave the club due to a contract wrangle that could disrupt Watford's summer. Watford in the end won promotion thanks to their strikeforce of Matej Vydra, Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo. The trio netted 57 times between them and they were the most feared attack in the division. Watford only lost eight times all season and their go for it tactics were vital. Their defence was also pretty solid conceding just 50 times. This was largely thanks to the form of Heurelho Gomes in goal. Adlene Guedioura came in from Crystal Palace on loan and he was another integral figure in an excellent season. The only disappointment was Watford's failure to secure the title, something they appeared to have in their grasp until the dying stages of their final game with Sheffield Wednesday.
