Football Season Review

№7: Wolverhampton Wanderers

This was quite a first season back in the Championship for Wolves who came within goal difference of making the play-offs. They arguably deserved a crack at the end of season lottery after raising their game at times. In Kenny Jackett, Wanderers have a top quality head coach and that showed at times. Their big strength was their attack with Benik Afobe, Nouha Dicko and Bakary Sako all scoring 15 times, the former proving to be an inspiring signing from Arsenal with 32 goals in total to his name this term including some while on a previous loan spell at Arsenal. Jackett was able to name a fairly settled side throughout the campaign and he was fortunate enough on the injury front. Molineux became a bit of a fortress with 13 wins this term. Jackett will expect to add one or two names over the summer but it is expected to be another couple of months of steady progress. Wanderers will feel they should be amongst the division's frontrunners next term. However they are resigned to losing Sako who is now out of contract.

Player of the Season: Bakary Sako
