Last season, Besiktas turned into something different after coach Senol Gunes came in but they finished in the 3rd place. This season, the fans are hopeful to see more success from the Black Eagles but the board have failed to replace some departures yet. After Redmond, who has produced 6 goals & 6 assists, returned to England, they were unable to find a replacement yet. Ghezzal had to miss several fixtures last season due to injuries. Ahead of the new season, the Algerian player is busy with them again. At this point, creativity could be a problem. At backline, the fans saw the departures of Saiss and Welinton. They added Amartey who has been far from 1st team football in the last season’s 2nd part. The coach will be unable to use Sanuc & Uzunhan for a while due to injuries. Along with Colley, Montero and Uysal, the coach will have to build his defensive duo. To sign left-back Masuaku on a permanent deal is a big plus. The midfield looks strong defensively as they already have Gedson, Hadziahmetovic and Ucan. Onana joined them following his move from Lens. A creative option in midfield would be welcomed by the coach. Once again, Aboubakar will be the most important asset of the team with plenty of goals. Muleka and Tosun will compete for another spot in the offence zone. When new arrival Rebic builds his form, no one could get the shirt from the Croatian winger.

European spots. They are not strong as much as their direct rivals are. According to their situations in the league, they can target the Turkish Cup directly.
