Giants Fenerbahce finished last season 2nd behind their bitter Istanbul rivals Galatasaray. In the end the gap between the teams was 8 points and this was disappointing as far as Fenerbahce were concerned. It was so frustrating for the fans and the Board in fact that the manager was released at the end of the season. Appointed experienced Ismail Kartal in charge in July. He quickly started working on addressing the main issue from last season – the defensive inconsistencies. Fenerbahce had the best attack in the entire league last year with 87 goals scored. However, they conceded 42, in comparison Galatasaray conceded just 27, and this was the main reason why precious points were dropped. Already added 3 new quality defenders to the ranks. Becao and Müldür come from Seria A. Djiku joins after a solid campaign with Strasbourg in France. This makes the options in defence much better. Ener Valencia won the Golden Boot last season with his 29 goals. He left in the summer though. Reacted to that by signing Kent from Rangers and the veteran Dzeko (37) from Inter. Also, the talented playmaker Dusan Tadic was added. All this should keep Fenerbahce’s attack as one of the best.

Target

Look certain for a top 3 finish. Only the title will satisfy them though.
