Last season, lack of experience was Istanbulspor biggest problem and they really felt that in the 1st period of the campaign but they overcame it once coach Fatih Tekke came in. He made his squad believe in themselves and gain confidence. As they have done in the last season, the board built a low profile squad with some unfamiliar arrivals. After Mehremic left the team and Ersoy & Deli’s loan periods came to an end, the board brought in the Greek center-back Diamantis who will live his 1st experience outside his country. It is a plus to sign Duhabet on a permanent deal after he has impressed last season but they are weak on the left as Yasar is not a stable defensive winger and new arrival Coly is a big question mark considering that the Senegalese man has not played an official fixtures since 27th of February 2022. The midfield looks acceptable as they have managed to keep Sarikaya & Rroca in the team for one more year. It seems like summer signing Vorobjovas will compete for minutes along with Loshaj, Ozturk and Temel considering his low profile CV. The offence line are absolutely the strongest part of the team. First of all, Ethemi, Topalli, Gultekin & Owusu are still in the coach’s pocket. Moreover, they added Jackson who was the captain of Egnatia along two offensive wingers Sambissa & Mamadou who are expected to steal some time from Topalli on the right flank. Once again, they will try to disturb some big teams and concentrate on some decisive fixtures against their direct rivals. It would be better to bring some quality, if they have some money left in their budget. The fans can be sure that they will try to give their best at any stadium against any opponent.

Target

Last season, they ignored the Turkish Cup in order to concentrate on their survival race. They should repeat that again as their squad cannot compete in more than one competition. Survival is their only target.
