Football Season Guide

Samsunspor managed to return to the top level football after 11 years, having finished the 1st division with a 10-point gap at the top. They are about to kick off the season with a very healthy economy. Club president Yuksel Yildirim is a wealthy business man who also has bought 85% share of the French club Dunkerque this summer. Most of the promoted clubs are used to part company with their managers but they decided to keep on working with coach Huseyin Eroglu who has helped young prospects turn into talented players like Cengiz Under while he was in charge of Altinordu. As expected, their 1st task was to increase the quality level of the team comparing to last season. In order to do that, they let some players leave the team for free as they already had a very long squad. Their summer signings made the fans feel very hopeful about this season. First of all, they added Kocuk & Antalyali from Galatasaray. The duo will strengthen the team with their experience. They were especially very active in filling the roles of the defence line Now, they look pretty strong there along with the moves of Nanu, Bola, van Drongelen & Satka. Beside Antalyali, they have Soner, Celik and Bennasser in midfield. One more signing will make the coach feel sure about the midfield. Besides Tanque and Laura, the board brought Marius in. Former RFC Seraing attacker has done well last season despite missing 8 fixtures due to injury. Schindler made his move from Köln but his stats were not promising last season. No doubt that they seem like the most exciting team so far. They should not face any problem this season, if they can bring a few offensive wingers who could produce some assists.
