Football Season Guide

Last season, it was pretty interesting for Sivas. They competed in Europe and managed to see March but 4 points in the last two fixtures also enabled them to survive at top level. This season, it is expected to be more difficult for them. First of all, the board parted company with coach Riza Calimbay. They replaced him with Servet Cetin who played professional football for one year in Sivas and worked as coach Calimbay's assistant for 4 years. So, he knows the city and the team very well but it will be his 1st experience as a head coach in a 6-year coaching career. This summer, they were weakened offensively as Gradel & Yatabare left the team. The experienced duo have produced 22 goals & 7 assists totally. Moreover, Caicedo, James and Yesilyurt will not be part of the team this season. The board added Bassan & Rodrigues to the offence line but their arrivals are not good enough. They absolutely need an attacker and offensive minded midfielder as soon as possible. Erenturk made his move from Konya although they already had Ali Sasal and Muammer on the net. It seems like one of them may leave. They are also very short at center back as Goutas & Appindangoye left the team. There is only a 19-year-old option for Camara & Osmanpasa there. For now, there is no problem with defensive wingers. The fans saw the arrival of Parmak from Trabzon but they are also short in midfield as there are only Saiz, Hakan, Djerlek and Charisis. As the new coach said, they are searching for a new face for this area too.
