Last season was expected to be a tough one for Kayseri because of their transfer ban. It happened to be so and they had to compete with a very short squad during the whole campaign. Despite that, they managed to survive. Ahead of the upcoming season, the board have failed to solve the issue yet. That is why they were unable to talk with any player agent about a possible move. The worse is that they have lost some players this summer who were important in the last season’s survival. During the whole summer, the name of coach Cagdas Atan was whispered about a possible resignment considering the current problems. Since Emrah Bassan moved to league rivals Sivas and Gavranovic & Parlak left the club, they were weakened offensively. It seems like all offensive creativity will belong to Thiam, Cardoso & Mane. Following the departure of Cenk Gonen, there are only two 18 & 20 year old back-ups for 24-year-old Bilal. Center back including Hosseini, Arif and Kolovetsios is not trustable. Moreover, there is no good support for defensive wingers Carole & Sazdagi. The fans may have to see some defensive midfielders at backline. If they cannot solve the tranfer ban, the coach will have to find some hot prospects from the Academy. There are Attamah, Uzodimma, Kemen and Karimi in midfield along with some youngsters but it is obvious that they are far from league’s level in this area too. Once again, being short is the biggest problem of Kayseri ahead of the new season. Even if they solve it, the new faces will arrive late and they will have to spend a few months adapting. The board and the coach could lose their credit week by week.

Target

They will make a huge celebration, if they manage to survive at the end. They can ignore the cup in order to save their energy for the league.
