Championship playoff heartache against bitter rivals, Crystal Palace ensured the Seagulls would remain in the second tier for at least another season. It could yet be longer after the close season upheaval which led to the dismissal of boss, Gus Poyet for off-field issues. Brighton's owner, Tony Bloom has since moved to replace Poyet with Spaniard, Oscar Garcia, who has promised to uphold the recent playing traditions of the club and keep fans flocking to the Amex Stadium. Transfer activity has been very minimal on the south coast this summer, with Matt Upson returning on a permanent basis from Stoke City, while promising left back Adam Chicksen has also signed on the dotted line from MK Dons. Garcia will be hoping to simply tinker with what is already a rather strong Championship squad in order to get them in playoff contention once again in 2013/14.

Target

A third successive playoff push.
