Nottingham Forest were rather unfortunate just to miss out on the play-offs last term despite a late run under new manager Billy Davies. This summer has certainly been a more settled one than last summer when new owners and a new manager made things a rush before the opening day of the campaign. Forest were one of the best teams in the second half of the season and their squad is arguably improved although the loss of Lewis McGugan to Watford is a big blow. They have made a useful signing in winger Jamie Paterson from Walsall while defenders Eric Lichaj and Jack Hobbs should make them far more solid. Forest have been sticking in bids for players left, right and centre with Davies still after another central defender, central midfielder, winger and striker. Forest though now have a large squad especially with Matt Derbyshire and Ishmael Miller back in contention after loan spells last term. Forest will be quietly confident that they are well placed, under a well-liked manager, to have a decent season.

Target

Forest's aim is promotion and they will believe they have a chance this term.
