Football Season Review

№12: Luton Town

Luton enjoyed a better season, finishing in 12th, a much-improved display to last time around where they finished in 19th having looked odds-on to go down. They were in mid-table for much of the season with Nathan Jones progressing the club again year on year. They relied on strong defending while taking their chances in away games (winning seven by a 1-0 margin). They only conceded 52 but only scored 41 so it is very clear where the main area of improvement for next season is. Elijah Adebayo at least looked the part following his mid-season move from Walsall. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall became Luton's playmaker on his loan spell from Leicester and the Hatters will be keen to keep hold of him next season. They probably did not cope too well without fans, usually relying on a close-knit Kenilworth Road. Luton only won eight games at home all season. Undoubtedly they need to improve their attack but remain a side that appear to be on the up under the charge of Jones.
