Football Season Review

№17: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest had a desperate campaign overall. Sabri Lamouchi started the season in charge despite failing to make the play-offs last term. But after just a handful of games he was sacked with Chris Hughton coming in. The likeable Hughton has not overly impressive at Forest. He was never one to change tactics or personnel much and an overall 17th place finish is not one that will excite. The biggest failing was in Forest's attack. Lyle Taylor joined Lewis Grabban, while Glenn Murray arrived midway through the season. All have been prolific scorers in the past but none of them hit double figures. Forest only managed 37 goals themselves overall. Loan signings with the exception of James Garner were also a disappointment with Anthony Knockaert unable to match the displays he has produced at this level in the past. Other than Garner, Joe Worrall looked the part at the back with the defence performing reasonably enough. There are no suggestions that Forest are ready to make any changes to the management situation yet but they need a big summer of transfer activity and something to give them optimism for the next campaign.
