Football Season Review

№11: Millwall

Millwall in the end finished quite a creditable 11th, but this was not a particularly good season overall. Expected to challenge for a play-off spot, they were never really in the reckoning, although never in relegation trouble either. They continued their reputation as quite a physical side with their own style but maybe tried too hard to play a passing game. Gary Rowett has now been at the club for a couple of seasons and the next campaign promises to be a very big one indeed for him. Millwall really need to push on now but there is not too much investment for new players they desperately need for that next step. Their final day 6-1 defeat at Coventry was a humiliating way to finish and suggests that maybe all is not right behind the scenes. Jed Wallace scored 11 times with six assists and was stand-out player this season yet again. The Lions again face a summer fight to hang on to him again. Meanwhile Bartosz Bialkowski also impressed in goal with only 52 goals conceded overall. They lacked a goalscorer up-front with Troy Parrott and Kenneth Zohore both disappointing on loan spells.

Player of the Season: Jed Wallace
