Football Season Review

№14: Norwich City

A season of transition for Norwich and not an entirely successful one. The Canaries always knew it would be tough as they ripped up their side and looked for a new plan to take the club forward. In came Daniel Farke who added European ideas to the Norwich side. He brought in the likes of Tom Trybull and Christoph Zimmermann and they did not have it particular easy in their first season of English football. Norwich ultimately finished a disappointing 14th but their season was, in truth, over midway through so there was very little to play for. You sense that Farke needs to make mass changes over the summer months if Norwich are to be challengers. He looks set to lose James Maddison, by far and away the Canaries' best player this season. Norwich should though be able to command a hefty fee for the 21-year-old who managed 15 goals from midfield. That could help them bring in players. Norwich have been very patient with Farke so far but a bad start to the new campaign could well put him under some pressure. It is a big summer and a big season ahead for both himself and the Canaries.

Player of the Season: James Maddison
