Football Season Review

№11: Blackburn Rovers

This was not an overly promising season for Blackburn who finished it in mid-table. They were never in danger of relegation but despite a couple of promising situations never looked like making the play-offs either. Possibly the key moment in the campaign came when Bradley Dack suffered a serious injury. Dack was a key figure for the club and was a huge miss. Tony Mowbray struggled to find his best side and kept chopping and changing his side to limited effect. Adam Armstrong was probably the club's best player this season and he scored 17 goals including five after the restart. Lewis Travis also looked the part in midfield while Stewart Downing showed his experience in a strong campaign. You did though sense Blackburn lacked quality without Dack, something they need to address in the transfer market if they are to challenge for the play-offs next term.
