Football Season Review

№7: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest will be kicking themselves all summer after an outrageous ending to the campaign. Forest somehow went on a six-game winless run to miss out in the dying stages of the final day, losing 3-1 at home to Stoke when a 3-2 or 2-1 defeat would have been enough. Forest only needed a draw out of their last two games but lost both. There appears to have been an air of complacency about it and it could spell problems for boss Sabri Lamouchi with Forest's owners not famed for their patience. Lamouchi had previously enjoyed an impressive campaign but it remains to be seen whether he will be given another chance after such a bleak ending as Forest's wait for a Premier League return was extended. Forest's player of the season was Matty Cash who has developed into a sensational right back. They will probably do well to keep hold of him over the summer months. Lewis Grabban was another who had a good season with 20 goals. Forest clearly need to add a couple of different, maybe attacking options, to their side. It will be interesting also to see if they carry any mental scars into the next campaign following the way this one finished.
