Football Season Review

№13: QPR

This was another season without any kind of excitement whatsoever for QPR. Mark Warburton was appointed the new Rangers boss last summer and after some decent early season results, it soon became clear they could not maintain standards and finished in mid-table with their last 15-20 games pretty dull indeed. They oddly released Grant Hall and Marc Pugh just before the season resumed and furloughed their Under 23 squad leaving them severely lacking in squad numbers for the remaining games. Inevitably they disappointed with only two wins in that period. Jordan Hugill was useful for QPR after Nahki Wells had netted 15 times in the first half of the season when he was on loan. Ebere Eze was player of the season and it is difficult to see how QPR can possibly keep him this summer. It promises to be a few weeks of rebuilding over the summer and QPR are desperate for numbers to come in. If they do not, it could be a very difficult season after such poor form over the second half of this campaign.
