Football Season Review

№15: Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn had another poor season for a club of their size. It was a campaign that never got going first under Gary Bowyer and then under Paul Lambert. Both managers appear to have been hamstrung by the owners with Lambert taking the decision to quit at the end of the season. That leaves Blackburn searching for yet another new manager and it is difficult to see the direction they are going in. Easily Blackburn's best achievement this term was making the FA Cup quarter-finals where they forced a replay against the might of Liverpool. Danny Graham and Jordi Gomez were promising loan signings but it is less than sure they will remain. Blackburn at least had a relatively good defence with Ben Marshall often filling in at right back in excellent fashion. Blackburn know they need to appoint a new manager and develop a clear plan for next term otherwise they could be the next North West side to slip into the third tier.
