Football Season Review

№23: Milton Keynes Dons

MK Dons were relegated back to League One as their first experience of Championship proved to be a real disappointment. They had started the season well enough and always appeared to pick up wins to keep them out of the drop zone. However a poor end of season run eventually did for them and they capitulated somewhat. The loss through injury of the highly-rated David Martin late in the campaign influenced things somewhat too. But this was a season that lacked consistency and a very frustrating one at that for Karl Robinson. A lack of goals - just 39 scored - was somewhat to blame with Nicky Maynard and Alex Revell never really becoming regular goalscorers. A poor away record with just two wins all season was no where near good enough either. MK now face a battle to hang on to boss Robinson who has interested other clubs. They must sort out their attack if they are to have any chance of returning to the Championship.
