Football Season Review

№12: QPR

Make no mistake this season has been a disaster for QPR. Looking to go straight back up to the Premier League, it quickly became clear that would not happen and from Christmas onwards a mid-table spot at best was likely to happen. That is what followed. Chris Ramsey proved not up to the task, Neil Warnock steadied the ship before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink came in. It has taken the former Burton boss time to make his mark on the team and it promises to be a big summer of rebuilding. QPR want to get the high earners off the wage bill and produce a feasible model for the future. The departure of Charlie Austin mid-season undoubtedly hit Rangers and they have not replaced him with a real weakness up-front now making a striker the priority this summer. There was not much to get optimistic about at Loftus Road this season just gone and there is already pressure on Hasselbaink to get things right in the close season.
