Football Season Review

№16: Nottingham Forest

This was another season of struggle for Nottingham Forest. They were severely hindered by their continued transfer embargo and a series of injuries to crucial players such as Britt Assombalonga, Chris Cohen and Andy Reid. That made the expectations the lowest they have been at the City Ground for a number of years. The excitement appeared to be lost and fans became critical of owner Fawaz Al Hasawi's running of the club. Dougie Freedman appeared to have done a reasonable job of steadying the ship but was sacked with Paul Williams taking temporary charge for the remaining games. Williams has also left the club so the priority now will be to appoint a new man to lead the club. There does appear to be some light at the end of the tunnel with Forest coming out of transfer embargo amid talk of a possible takeover. Assombalonga remains a big player for Forest if he can regain his form prior to an horrific injury that ruled him out of the game for a year.
