Football Season Review

№3: Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton's season ended in glorious failure following an amazing campaign. In the end they were so close to the Premier League after missing out only on goal difference after a final day 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough that sent their opponents up instead. They then crashed to Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-finals with an horrific amount of bad luck losing four players to injury in the first leg. Given they were so close to the drop last term an unbeaten run of 21 games at the start of the campaign was barely believable. Brighton are a side of few stars but have a great manager in Chris Hughton who has assembled a squad of players who had great team spirit. It may not be easy to see them replicate this extraordinary season unless they make further invest over the summer. They will have to find a way of getting over the bitter disappointment of coming so close to a season full of success.
