Football Season Review

№20: Fulham

This was another season where Fulham really disappointed and on this evidence they appear a long way away from competing for a return back to the Premier League. The Cottagers were fortunate to stay in the division after a series of lacklustre displays. They can at least look at a solid strike force of Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele who looked threatening in every game. Fulham scored 66 goals in the season, a staggering record for a side so close to relegation. But the root cause is obvious. Their woeful defence conceded a massive 79 goals and that destroyed the team's confidence. Kit Symons struggled early in the season and caretaker Stuart Gray steadied the ship for a bit before Slavisa Jokanovic arrived at the club. Jokanovic did not really impress but he remains at the club and will certainly understand the work he needs to do in order to turn the club around.
