Football Season Review

№10: Swansea City

It is difficult to know whether Swansea will be too content with the campaign that has just been. They were never in the running for the play-offs and never in the running for relegation either. Boss Graham Potter was rather unknown when he came in but has been a good match for the club in what was a campaign of stability. There were plenty of positives. Daniel James was outstanding but now seems very likely to leave over the summer such was the quality of his displays. Oli McBurnie also showed he has a bright future as he found the net 24 times for the Swans. They have removed some of their expensive earners as they adjust to post-Premier League cost cutting. They should be in far better shape next term to mount a serious challenge to return to the top flight. Potter will hope to get some of the James money should he go as they probably need two or three players without him to be serious contenders next time.
